Experimental Parameters

The above is a screenshot of a ‘birds eye’ video of an area of interest below. The area is approximately 80cm by 104cm and the height of the camera is roughly 240cm above the centre of the area. The general feeling is that if this is used ‘as is’ to begin to demonstrate ‘swarming’ of the robots below then the ‘bots themselves need to shrink! Alternatively the area requires expansion, for example, through the use of alternative lenses – maybe so-called “fish eye” lenses? It was an interesting experiment. A Raspberry Pi 4 was on the ceiling of a small room powered by a USB power bank then the Mini Solar Computer was used to SSH to the Pi 4 to setup streaming video over UDP. Food for thought anyway. The final idea is that the birds eye computer can help orientate the swarm below (together with other means)…we’ll see! 🙂

P.S. There’s a potential third alternative solution: the camera moves to follow the swarm! 😮
