Better view of the scene below using a Raspberry Pi Camera 3 Module with a wide Field of Vision (FoV). Good auto focus too. Again, this is a snapshot of the video streamed from the Pi on the ceiling of a small room to the ‘solar computer’. Dimensions now are reasonable at approximately 260cm x 200cm and the same height of 240cm. It’ll be tight but hopefully there’s enough space for a demonstration of the swarming techniques. The current robot is shown for scale. However, the new camera seems to use more power which could be an issue ‘in the field’? That is, it wouldn’t power up off the previous USB power bank so was plugged into mains although a PD power bank will be tested at some point. Effectively, allowing for 10 cm around the edge as a ‘buffer zone’, six of the sand based tiles demonstrated in the center of the picture above could be fitted into the FoV. Maybe a wall in the buffer zone to prevent robots running amok…? Overall, a far better result.
